Dr. Marc Faber is one of the most celebrated and controversial figures in global finance — known worldwide as “Dr. Doom” for his prescient warnings of market crashes before they happen. Founder and publisher of the Gloom Boom & Doom Report, his most famous calls include warning of the 1987 Black Monday crash, predicting the dotcom collapse in 2000, and issuing one of the earliest warnings ahead of the 2008 financial crisis.

Educated at the University of Zurich with a PhD in Economics, Marc spent his early career at White Weld & Company and Drexel Burnham Lambert before founding his own investment advisory. His books include Tomorrow’s Gold: Asia’s Age of Discovery.

Born in Zurich and based in Asia for decades, Marc has built a reputation for rigorous, independent market analysis that consistently challenges Wall Street consensus — and has been proven right at the moments that matter most.
